Commitment to Sustainability
Asahi Polyslider has a responsibility to walk side-by-side with our customers and with society.
Founded in 1952, we are where we are today because we have continued to grow and evolve in step with the changing times. From the postwar period to the bubble economy, Japan was in an era of mass production and mass consumption, where if you could make something, it would sell. Today, however, the world is undergoing a major transition, with societies aiming to be more sustainable for future generations.
We, too, must change. Asahi Polyslider will continue to evolve so that we can contribute not only to the economy but also to society.
Reducing Plastic Waste and CO2 Emissions
We strive for design, development and production technologies that are both functional and efficient, so that we can manufacture the same quantity of products with the same functions while using less plastic, thereby ensuring the efficient use of natural resources.
We endeavor to reduce plastic waste and use natural resources efficiently through initiatives such as grinding scrap plastic, runners, and other materials which would otherwise be discarded and selling them as resources for recycling or energy.
Business Activities with a Low Environmental Impact
We ensure our business activities have a low impact on the environment by reducing defects and achieving productivity improvements based on environmental policies and goals that we have set in accordance with ISO 14001.
- We comply with relevant laws and regulations, such as the Containers and Packaging Recycling Law, and strive to recycle.
- We reduce defects and plastic waste.
- We adopted LED lighting and other technologies to conserve electricity.
- We devise innovative practices, such as how we load products for delivery, in order to increase the amount of goods we transport per shipment, thereby reducing CO2 emissions.
We protect water quality to safeguard people's health and lives.
We analyze the composition of company wastewater and groundwater on our premises to maintain safe levels.
Comfortable Work Environment
■Preventive measures against new infectious diseases: Maintaining employee health and preventing infections
We have taken measures to prevent the spread of disease, such as enabling employees to receive vaccinations at company facilities, if they wish. We have taken steps to ensure we can continue operations while implementing adequate preventive measures, including allowing work from home for some job types. Our offices are spacious and well laid out, which not only provides a comfortable work environment, but also accommodates measures against the spread of diseases.
■Relaxing common areas
There are common areas throughout the company that are designed to facilitate better communication and provide physical and mental comfort.
